In recognize the contribution of the counselor Weiya Xu, the Association organized farewell diner in May before his leaving as the director for Education at the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Toronto.

Counselor Xu provided continuous support to the Toronto scientific and academic community over the 3-year duration of his tenure in Toronto, during which period he visited many research laboratories and teaching institutions at the University of Toronto where Chinese professors are working on behalf of director for Education at the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Toronto. He and his colleagues spent time discussing with Chinese professors on the work and the life as well as on collaborations with the counterparts in China. The time and effort from the Consulate General had made a significant difference on Chinese professors’ as well as Canadian professors’ views on education and science in China.

More than 20 professors joined the event and expressed their appreciation to Dr. Xu and wished him success back in China. Counselor Xu gave a warm and encouraging speech, hoping the association a brilliant future.
